Notes - H.B. Cox was born in IL and traveled with his Mother, Anna HUNNICUTT COX and 2 brothers, James M and Davis B COX to the Dallas area. Arriving around 1844. He served, as did his brothers, in the 19th Regiment, TEXAS Cavalry (BURFORD's), Co B, during the Civil War. He married about 4 times and had about 14 children. H.B. was a teacher, newspaper columnist, Postmaster, Lay Minister in the Rylie Christian Church, and farmer in his time. H.B. and his wife were among the founding members of the Rylie Christian Church which is still holding services today.
