- Elsie Mae Pickle Lewis, 75, died Monday, June 29, 2009, at the Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center in Amory. She was born June 4, 1934, in Monroe County to Elgie and Ruby Camp Pickle. She married Loys Denver Lewis in 1958; he preceded her in death. She lived in Columbus and in the Amory area for the past 14 years. She worked in the garment industry and retired as a state school employee. She was a member of the First Assembly of God in Amory. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and her family and friends. Services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with the Rev. Bob Wilburn and Bro. Tommy Whaley officiating. Burial will be in the Pickle Cemetery. Survivors include one son, Billy Eugene White of Columbus; two daughters, Dorothy White Prestridge of Amory and Marie Goble of Memphis; two sisters, Mavis McCrary (Bill) and Mable Chambers (Robert), both of Hatley; six grandchildren, James Michael Prestridge (Melissa), Crystal Dawn Oversen, Shawn Michael White (Starla), Natalie Mallard (Robert), Reuben Neil Goble (Patricia) and Tisha Gail Speer (John); and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a twin brother, Elton Ray Pickle.
