  	"A Good Citizen Passes Away" Athens Review, 2 Feb 1905 Died at his home yesterday at 6:30 P.M. Mr. C. R. Pickle, after an illness of about two weeks. He died of erysipelas. He was buried today, Thursday, at the Cummings Graveyard. Mr. Pickle was one of our best citizens. His loss will be great to the County. Such men as he are the kind to build up a County and their loss is irreparable. As a good man said today in speaking of his deathl "If the world was filled with such men as Bob Pickle, it would be a pleasant world to live in." He leaves a wife and one child and several children by a former marriage. The editor of the Review extends condolence and deeply grieves at the lostt of a friend highly esteemed.
