He and his wife, Martha, wrote an indenture |
- Stephen and his wife drew up an indenture assigning 210 acres of land, livestock and other property to his two sons Elijah W. and Elisha J., on condition that they should take care of any debts owed by him and his wife or would incur before their decease. (ref: Lauderdale Co., MS., Deed Book F,, p. 411). It is reported that he died shortly after this document was filed.

- Note: ref: Warren Co., KY., Order Book B, p. 63 - "On the motion of Stephen Lacy, and satisfactory proof being made to the Court that (he) has taken up and improved one hundred acres of land agreeable to an Act of Assembly in that case made and provided, it is ordered that he be entitled to the same as per entry filed which entry reads as follows, to wit: Stephen Lacy enters 100 acres of land on the middle part of Drake's Creek beginning on a White Oak on said creek and running westwardly then northwardly then so to include Improvement as the Law directs." Present: John Marshall, Mark Reaves, Esq. This land was subsequently disposed of by Stephen several years later.
