- Longtime Fox Creek, Colo. resident Leland ‘Lee' A. Broyles, 78, died April 5, 2008 at the Horizon Heights Care Center of Pueblo, Colo.
Lee was born June 3, 1929 in Fox Creek the son of Dryden Johnson and Myrtle Edna McGinnis Broyles. He married his wife of more than 14 years, Beverly Scheibe, on Nov. 20, 1993 in Alamosa, Colo.
Lee worked for many years as an electronic technician for the civil service and was self educated. He was an active member of the Fox Creek Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and served in many church positions through the years. He also volunteered for a time in the Albuquerque, N.M. Temple. Lee's hobbies were rocks and gems. He was a professional gold and silversmith and made many beautiful pieces of jewelry. He also enjoyed traveling around seeing the country.
He is survived by his wife Beverly Broyles of Fox Creek; children Patricia (Jim) Moores of Washington, David Broyles of Las Cruces, NM, and JoAnne Cauble of Las Cruces; brothers and sister Cecil Broyles of Parker, Colo, Wilma Brace of Monte Vista, Colo. and Albert (Kathy) Broyles of Commerce City, Colo. as well as by four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. His parents and his first wife Mary Broyles preceded him in death.
