• Notes

  Until about 1838-39, when they left for Texas, he farmed tobacco and operated a store at Cross Roads, North Carolina, near Snow Hill in Wayne County. They settled on Harmons Creek, five to ten miles northeast of Huntsville, Texas, about 1840-42, where he operated a grist mill. They lived there until about 1850, when they moved to Sands Chapel, near Chatfield, Texas. They then moved to Waxahachie, Texas and then to Waco, where he operated a hotel.
