- Ollie M. "Mitch" Fullerton, 88, died Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011, at his ranch in Clark after a lengthy illness.
Mitch was born July 25, 1923, to Emmett Guy and Rebecca Naomi (McMichaels) Fullerton on his dad's farm in Athens, Texas. He finished his education and moved to Dallas. But he never ceased learning, as he always had a book in his hand.
After the attack on Pearl Harbor, Mitch went to Hawaii to rebuild aircraft engines for the Navy. After returning to the states, he worked for Western Natural Oil and Gas Co., Sinclair Oil and Gas, and then 36 years for ARCO Oil and Gas. Mitch retired in 1985 in Gillette and later moved to Clark.
Mitch always enjoyed hunting, fishing and telling great stories to his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sallie Frances, sons Robert of Clark, Bill (Rita) of Newcastle, daughters Linda Fleming of Cheyenne, Brenda Fox and fiance Bill Webb and son Wyatt, granddaughters Bobbie and fiancee Matt Milsap of Englewood, Colo., and Sallie (John) McCall of Littleton, Colo., grandsons Guy (Gianna) of Newcastle and Cobey of Newcastle, great-grandchildren Aaron, Chris and DeLaney of Newcastle, and a host of other relatives, friends and neighbors.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Emmett and the Rev. Henry Lee Fullerton.
