- "Tom Pickell was an All-America basketball player at Arkansas in 1929. He led the Razorbacks to records of 10-2, 20-0, 16-1 and three straight SWC titles. Pickell was a three-time All-Southwest Conference basketball selection. He also lettered in track. He was a member of a strong Phillips 66ers team and was AAU All-America in 1932, 1934 and 1935. He is a native of Fayetteville."
