    • Services for Thomas A. (Tommy) Pickle, 85, of Palestine will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the Court Drive Church of Christ with sons Thomas A. "Bud" Pickle, Robert C. "Bob" Pickle and Mark Pickle officiating. Graveside services will follow in Cedar Creek Cemetery officiated by Harold Hearn, Charles Lively and Thomas Wear. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
      Mr. Pickle died Saturday in the Cartmell Home for Aged surrounded by his loving family.

      He was born August 10, 1919, in Palestine to Voyle Carrie Pickle and Annie Pearl Moseley Pickle.

      Mr. Pickle was a member of the Court Drive Church of Christ. He was a captain in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He flew B-26 bombers on 63 missions in the Mediterranean Theatre, receiving numerous medals, decorations and citations.

      Mr. Pickle served 40 years in the community as a banker for both Royall National Bank and First National Bank where he served in various roles including president and vice chairman, before retiring in 1985. He also served on the Palestine City Council and for 20 years was on the board of directors of Memorial Hospital.
      Mr. Pickle was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Juanita Pickle; and brothers, Cecil Pickle and Voyle Pickle Jr.

      He is survived by his wife, Geneva Lively Pickle of Palestine; and children, Thomas A. "Bud" Pickle of Centerville, Robert C. "Bob" Pickle of Palestine, Deborah Ann Mueller of Anchorage, Alaska, Margie Danielle Wear of Fort Smith, Ark., and Mark Pickle of Sugar Land. He is also survived by sister, Ruby Huber of San Bernardino, Calif.; brother, Lem Pickle of Palestine; 23 grandchildren, Brian Pickle, Brad Pickle, Melissa Pickle, Lisa Stutzman, Laura Kinion, Natasha Cox, Michelle Haynes, Jessica Jenks, Tiffani Pickle, Kristopher Pickle, Kristin Mueller, Aron Mueller, Thomas Wear, Michael Wear, Rachel Wear, Caleb Pickle, Joshua Pickle, Nathanael Pickle, Timothy Pickle, Hannah Pickle, Amanda Pickle, Moriah Pickle and Stephen Pickle; eight great-grandchildren, Roman Robinson, Abigail Pickle, Jonathan Pickle, Wesley Stutzman, Wyatt Stutzman, Sara Stutzman, Zachary Kinion and Alexandra Kinion.
