- Son of Lewis Chambers & Annie Hunter and husband of Elizabeth De Bow, whom he married June 30, 1836 in Wilson or Smith County, Tennessee. They immigrated from Tennessee to Vineland, Collin County, Texas in 1856. He was a captain in the CSA, Company D, 15th Battalion, Texas State Troops between 1862-1863 and state representative in the Texas Legislature between 1872-1886.
