1650. David Anderson in St. Mary's Co., Md. In 1655 he deposed, in Charles Co., Md., as of Westmoreland Co., Va., and gave his age then as 25. In 1666 he was in Stafford Co., and in 1689 he was Constable there. He married Elizabeth, widow of John Hallowes (q. v.).

David Anderson and Elizabeth, wife of David, of Washington Parish, Westmoreland County, to Major John Washington [great-grandfather of George]. For a valuable consideration. All my interest of this patent with all the land conveyed by Henry Brooks to me, as also all land that we possessed by virtue of an order of Westmoreland County court and have been for five years possessed without commencement of suit by Henry Brooks. 3 Apr 1667. #402. Whereas it doth appear to this court that David Anderson stands indebted to Capt. John Lee [probable ancestor of Robert E. Lee] 2,000 pounds of tobacco and cask by bill dated the 4th of Jully 1664 and due the 20th October following. The court doth order that the said Anderson forthwith pay to the said Lee or his assignees the said sum of 2,000 pounds of tobacco and cask with forebearance and costs of suit else execution.
