  	Funeral services for Edward Manning Pitts, 67, 1590 S. Main St., retired employee of the Crane Co., will be conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. in Arbor Ward Chapel, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1740 S. State St., by Bishop Harry Anderson. Mr. Pitts died Wednesday at 1 a.m. at his home of natural causes. For 44 years prior to his retirement in May 1950, he worked for the Crane Co. He was an active member for the past 14 years of Arbor Ward, serving at the time of his death as a ward teacher. He held the office of a seventy. He was a former member of the Jefferson Ward. Born March 16, 1885 in Salt Lake City, he was the son of Joseph B. and Eliza Evans Pitts. He married May Bowers in Nephi in 1903, the marriage later being solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. She died Dec. 2, 1935, and he later married Sadie Tripp McFarland Aug. 21, 1938. Survivors, in addition to his widow are a son, Claude Edward Pitts, Salt Lake City, 11 grandchildren; one brother, Frank E. Pitts, East Mill Creek, and two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Deardorff and Mrs. Cass Crowton, Salt Lake City.
